Shared between the Bastide Saint -Louis and the Medieval City, the city of Carcassonne has become a “Must Visit”. Accessible mainly from the Narbonne Gate, the heart of the fortress offers a journey into the past and plenty of wonders: The Comtal Castle, the Basilica of Saint –Nazaire and many vestiges of neo- Gothic architecture.
To reach the lower town on foot, you can take the old bridge (XIV Medieval Bridge) which allows us to access the shopping streets, and the Place Carnot, Main Square where the markets take place. Mansions and religious buildings deserve your attention as well as a stop along the Canal du Midi, where you can enjoy a ride on a boat.

Small village with narrow streets, built between la Dure et l’Alzeau. It has prospered in the XVII when Colbert decided to implant the Royal Manufacture of Linen from which we can still see the building that now serves as exposure to different artist’s workshop.
Montolieu is known as "The Village of the book" because the streets are packed with shops of booksellers and persons who exercise the Book Trade. Do not miss a visit to the Museum of Arts and book trade as well as the discovery of exposures to the old Cooperative.

Fanjeaux is a historical site, which takes its name from the Greek Fanum Jovis , which means " The Temple of Jupiter " and reflecting the importance of this site during the Gallo –Roman time . In the middle Ages, the population turn to Catharism and a religious war will break out between Guilhabert from Castres and Dominic from Guzman. This one will try to bring the Cathars to the Catholic Church, and later will put in place the Dominican order in 1215 .
